About The Department

The Department of Physics at Palanisamy College of Arts was established in 1993. The aim of our department is imparting quality education in physics. The Department has rich tradition of teaching and Research. Physics is one of the fields of knowledge that it can be used to studying what are the concepts used in day today life things. Studying Physics develops scientific temper and encourages students to innovate in diverse research and technical areas. Physics is the basic science that underlies all of the physical sciences and influences most of the biological sciences. It treats matter, energy and interactions at the fundamental level.

With an increasingly knowledge based economy and the continuing need for qualified manpower in basic sciences in general and “Physics” in particular, there is an umbrella of opportunities for Physics graduates. This programme provides an excellent background for a wide variety of careers in science, science-related and technological fields. With a team of dedicated faculty and substantial infrastructural facilities, we march towards Excellence!

Job Job Description

RESEARCH ANALYST

Research analysts examine and validate the accuracy of the data to ensure that it produces meaningful information.

TEACHER

Analyzing the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of students and structuring lessons and assessments around them.

LAB ASSISTANT

Setting of laboratory equipment/apparatus for smooth conduction of practicals. Able to handle lab experiments and assist faculty and students during practicals. Maintain Stock, Breakage, issue of components register and all other lab related documents.

DATA ANALYST

A physicist in a data science job will spend most of their time analyzing data and designing and developing models to predict how something will behave based on data of how it has behaved in the past.

AERONAUTICAL ENGINEER

Aeronautical engineers (also known as aerospace engineers) design, develop and maintain aircraft components. Using cutting-edge technology, they work primarily in the aviation, aerospace and defence industries, ensuring planes are safe and cost-efficient.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement.

ONLINE TUTOR

Explaining lessons to students using online teaching platforms. Making students comfortable before starting lessons. Taking up student questions and queries while teaching online. Ensuring all the students are present for online lessons.

OBSERVATION SCIENTIST

Research analyst conduct research on physical phenomena, create theories and develop methods on how to apply physical laws and theories. Observation Scientists collect and record data, which enables them to construct and then test hypotheses and theories.

SCHOOL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

Cleaning and maintenance of equipment in laboratories and prep rooms. Repairs of breakages where possible, Modification and construction of apparatus. Setting up demonstrations as required by teaching staff.

AEROSPACE

To develop technologies for use in aviation, defense systems, and spacecraft.
